7pm to 9pm

Ticket price was £10 per person (proceeds of which were donated to the charity ADD and Suchana School near Kolkata (Calcutta), India)

This charity event on the 13th May, was a collaboration between elwood wines and FAIR & Kolkata, two leading Fair Trade fashion shops in Brighton and  took place at their newly opened FAIR shop in Queens Road, near the Clock Tower.  Our guests had the chance to taste the range of Thandi Wines on offer, with accompanying cheeses, and an opportunity to peruse through the spring/summer collections from People Tree, Ideo, Nancy Dee, Miksani and FAIR's exclusive own design Fair Trade ranges.  Vernon Henn, General Manager of Thandi Wines, talked about his wines and the importance about how this has improved the quality of the lives of 250 farm working families through the production of their delicious wines.  I felt this best summed up what Fair Trade is all about and I was delighted to have an opportunity to invite Vernon down to Brighton while he was over in the UK for the International London Wine Trade Fair in May.
