Chateau La Grave 2016, Cru Bourgeois Medoc
This excellent Cru Bourgeois covers 23 hectares of densely-planted vines on a mixture of clay, gravel and limestone soils in the village of Blaignan, 10 km to the north of Saint Estèphe. The 2016 vintage is a blend of 68% merlot, 31% cabernet sauvignon & 1% petit verdot. It is aged for twelve months in one third new oak casks. As a 2016, it is fresh but still generous and brimming with black fruits. It is drinking well now but will gain in harmony and complexity as it ages. Drink now - 2026.
