Bertrand Ambroise is a true family enterprise. Bertrand and Martine Ambroise head up a 21 hectare domaine ably assisted by their son François and daughter Ludivine. The estate has been farmed organically for many years and the style is one of full-bodied, powerful wines.
Named after Bertrand’s star sign, this special cuvée is only produced in the best vintages. Coming from Bertrand’s oldest vines within the Bourgogne appellation (in the commune of Nuits-Saint-Georges), together with parcels in the Côte de Nuits villages, Pommard, Volnay, Beaune and Marsannay that are too small to be vinified separately. Aged for 15 months in 500 litre oak casks.
Lovely, vibrant notes of red cherry and raspberry are complemented by savoury, meaty notes from the time in bottle. Superbly fresh and elegant with impressive structure and supple tannins. A wonderful example of Bourgogne Pinot Noir which finishes long and complex – perfect for drinking now.
