Perfect with game.
This is one of the very finest family domaines in Givry, a small village in the sub-region Côte Chalonnaise in Burgundy. Since taking over the estate in 2008, Nicolas Ragot has taken the quality to new heights. He extended the vineyards, constructed a new vat house and eliminated the use of chemical herbicides. The majority of his wines are red and he follows very traditional winemaking practices.
This wine is from a selection of the oldest vines of the domaine, aged in 228 litre oak barrels. of which one third are new. It has a fabulous mixture of red and dark fruits. It’s rich and generous on the palate with silky tannins and impressive concentration. This is drinking beautifully now and will continue to age for another 3 years. Extremely good value for an exceptional wine.
