We are all in need of a little fink in our lives right now and this Grüner Veltliner delivers just that.
All work in the vineyard is carried out sustainably, with the use of their own fertilisers made from grape skins, manure and straw from their fields, to improve the soil structure and vitality of their vines. The south-east and south-west exposure of the slopes provides conditions for perfect ripening. Grapes are harvested in the early morning to harness acidity and pure fruit expression, and taken to their energy neutral winery for vinification.
UK sales of Grüner Veltliner continue to go from strength to strength, and the Funkstille style is absolutely spot on. Gentle white spice, pear and stone fruit character with floral notes and beautifully rounded finish. Try this instead of a Pinot Grigio for an infinitely more interesting alternative and your tastebuds will thank you … and at just a tenner bottle, your pocket will too!!
