Description

The Boiron family have been making wine in Châteauneuf- du-Pape since 1860. Nicolas Boiron is now in charge of the estate that covers 32 hectares spread across 40 different parcels. The average age of the vines is a venerable 50 years!

They produce some of the finest and most characterful wines of Châteauneuf with masses of spicy fruit on both nose and palate, rich, generous textures and long, persistent finishes. Anyone who loves Châteauneuf-du-Pape should be buying these wines!

A blend of 75% Grenache, 12% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah & 3% Vaccarèse, Counoise & Cinsault.  A lovely cuvée produced from parcels in different sectors of the appellation. 60% of the bunches are fermented whole with a lengthy maceration of up to four weeks in order to extract the maximum of flavour. Ageing is in a mixture of large, oak foudres and demi-muids for 15 months. Rich and concentrated with gamey, spicy fruit. Full-bodied with firm but ripe tannins and a splendid, long aftertaste. Drink 2025-2030.
